Welcome to a new venue for quality in poems, short stories, reviews, and essays about writing that is accompanied by fabulous illustrations. We are proud to invite you to join us in the creation and enjoyment of this exciting new literary magazine.
Big Pond Rumours is a Canadian publication associated with a small, independent literary press of the same name. We are based in Acton, a small but active town in southern Ontario. As you can see from the sidebar, though we are strictly interested in Canadian poetry as a Press, we invite submissions in several areas for our ‘zine.
You were looking for us. If you wanted a good read that is pleasantly presented, you have found it. We are looking for you. If you have poetry, prose, or book reviews, join the flock. Test the waters. If you have original art or photos that stand out from the flock, we are looking for you. Swim the currents. We are trolling for submissions from all provinces and territories in Canada.... and we are netting submissions from a world wide web of authors. Come on over to Big Pond. Dive in.
We admit to beginning with a completely Canadian focus, though we recognized that our very existence depended upon the availability of the www, a world-wide medium for communication. It has been heartening to learn the depth of interest in our new venture. Submissions to the ‘zine were made by writers from top to bottom of this grand continent … and right across the Big Pond to Europe. We morphed into an international publication before the launch of our first issue!
In a very real sense, the www community itself has rewritten our original intent for this publication. It is by the request of the very authors who submitted their work to us that we expanded our own horizons. Therefore Big Pond Rumours gladly considers all submissions of quality writing that are directed to a world wide readership. We know you will enjoy reading our Premiere Summer Issue. |
