Janet Butler spent many years in central Italy as teacher, translator, and watercolorist and translated the poems of Romeo Giuli (2003, Solveig Publishing House, Italy). Her own work has appeared in periodicals both online and in print. Her online chapbook is: Eden Fables (2007, Language and Culture) and a second chapbook, Ekphrastic Poems by Robert Schuler and Janet Butler (2007, Canvas Press) will be released in print. |

Daphna sings lead in a hard rock band Exit Zero www.exitzerorocks.com and harmony vocals for the band Carol Lester and the World Women www.carollester.com She has published her poetry in Poor Mojo's Almanac(k), can we have our ball back?, Chronogram, and The Hudson Reporter. |

Kate has a Ph.D. in English and American Literature from NYU, where she taught for many years. She now teaches at NY City College of Technology. Her publications include: articles on 19th- and early 20th-century women writers, a children's story, and numerous essays for academic reference guides and her poetry. She is on the staff of the Bellevue Literary Review. |

Shane is the unknown entity we are happy to introduce in this issue of Big Pond Rumour, The Zine. This is his first publication but he is clearly bitten by the poetry muse and he is a Creative Writing major. |
