Brian Purdy is the son of the iconic figure of Canadian Poetry, Alfred Wellington Purdy (deceased 2000) and Ila Purdy (nee Bachelor; later: Berg). Born in Belleville, Ontario, he was raised in small town Ontario and was a long-time resident of Toronto. He now lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia where worked for a time at Veith Street Gallery. He is curator of the Pedway Picture Gallery for Creative Spirit East, a not-for-profit co-operative of thirty-five artists with disabilities. |

John is one of the Maritime’s most prominent and respected legal Counsel. He also teaches Law at Dalhousie University. While he has published numerous articles in his field, his first story publication was in the Premiere Issue of Big Pond Rumours and he won Third Prise in our contest for ‘Beach Rose’. We are pleased to offer his second publication in this issue. |

Raquel’s work recently won 2nd Place Finalist in the 7th Annual Chistell Writing Contest. She is a freelance writer, originally from Kingston, Jamaica, currently residing in Tallahassee, Florida. She has a B.A. in English, (Creative Writing) from Florida State and she is Editor of Lyrical Passion E-Zine. |
