Overnight to Edmonton

There were buffaloes

Blocking the road

To Enterprise

Constructing the night

Forgetting for awhile

They were endangered

The Dogrib group

Stepped into the frigid night

For a smoke

Knowing it may be some time

Thoughts drifting like the snow

That was slowly starting to fall

Out there, in the nothingness

Of the territory

Edmonton seemed so far away.
