I had lollipops at 5am
she laughed when she woke up
deer season started today
first since he shot himself
near his house with his gun
we used to hunt together
I walked out past her by the fire
on the couch with the dog
who howls with her sometimes
might panic from the gun
but took the other who looks at me
every time I move
can't bring home what I kill
(makes her cry, we have an agreement)
came back with two pumpkins
