Rereading it, I wish I had given more attention to the work of Wallace, a Canadian poet who is missed dearly since her passing from cancer in 1989. It draws upon several letters she wrote to me, in support of my essay on Plath. It is presented here in the hope it will spark discussion of the part that biography takes in defining the poetic landscape of all poets.
