Pan Books, London, England, 1979-1983.  Mass Market paperbacks.  The first three titles in the five-volume 'trilogy'.  Very Good or better copies.  The Restaurant at the End of the World is a VG+ Cdn first edition; The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Life, the Universe and Everything are both attractive reprints.  These would make a nice gift or an introduction to the twisted but luminous mind of Douglas Adams.

McClelland and Stewart, Toronto, Ont. 1964.  Trade paper.  First Edition, wrappers issue simultaneous with cloth.  Near Fine condition.  A crisp and handsome copy of this middle-period collection by the well-known Canadian poet.  Only the slightest of wear.  Uncommon thus.

 

 

Callaghan, Morley, The Man With the Coat,

Toronto, Exile Editions, 1987.  Red cloth. 8vo.  First book publication of the first version of Callaghan's classic 'Many Coloured Coat', first published in a single issue of McLeans' Magazine and winner of that mag's $5,000. fiction prize.  This copy of an uncommonly-found title is boldly signed in what appears to be black fountain-pen ink by the author.  Handsome ex-library copy, jacket in nice shape though with slight glue residue to back panel.  A few neat library stamps, no pocket rear, mild tape stains to cloth boards, slight lean to spine.  Overall, the volume feels and looks fresh as though never circulated or read.   Scarce title and only signed copy available at present on the web (March, 2007).

Colourful and intricate late work by Chagall in several media: floor mosaics, drawings, paintings, tapestries. Gift quality copy.
