Second Floor Flat
Sheets smell of others, the guy who rented before me and his lover, one pillow barely bruised, the other deepened. Pull the cotton canopy up under my throat, and along comes her tense skin, the measured sowing of his fingers, a flock of giggles, nerves so willing I could dance with them. When I sleep, it will be at the sufferance of those who stayed up nights, passed on dreams to do what they dream about. |
